Abstract
This study investigates the impact of peer tutoring on academic performance in high schools. With increasing pressure on standardized test scores and overall academic achievement, educators and policymakers have sought alternative teaching strategies that support student learning. Peer tutoring, a form of cooperative learning where students assist each other, has shown promise in improving content mastery, student engagement, and confidence. This manuscript examines previous literature, employs a mixed-method design, and presents a statistical analysis of peer tutoring outcomes compared with conventional teaching approaches. Findings indicate that peer tutoring significantly enhances academic performance by promoting higher engagement, improved comprehension, and sustained academic motivation, with demonstrable benefits especially in subjects such as mathematics and science. The study’s findings advocate for the integration of peer tutoring programs as a supplemental resource in high school curricula.
